CPLUG has supported a few projects over the years. One of the few projects that we still maintain though, is the SAN.
Two senior members of cplug, namely cappaberra and red0x, turned a rack of dust-collecting equipment (courtesy of Brocade) into a usable and working Storage Area Network (SAN). As of August, 2005, it is available to the public at http://san.csc.calpoly.edu. The services offered by the Cal Poly SAN include: complete Gentoo portage rsync, Ubuntu apt mirror, Debian apt mirror, Linux kernel 2.6 mirror, and several install CDs for the major Linux distributions (Gentoo, Debian, Slackware, Fedora Core, and Ubuntu). There might be additional services, but that’s what’s planned thus far. Keep an eye on this page for updates, as well as on irc.
