We are pleased to announce our first quarterly programming competition!

The competition will be held this Saturday in the 300 labs (room 302). Prizes will be awarded to the top three contestants, and problems will be similar to those at the ACM-ICPC.

Come have CPLUG install Linux on your machine! We can also troubleshoot any Linux related problems you have, or you can even just show up to hang out.

By default, we will dual boot your machine with Ubuntu or Linux Mint, so you won’t lose your current OS. We’ll have Ubuntu 11.10 or Mint 12 disks on hand to install for new users, and we can help you install another distribution if you bring your own disks.

The event will take place in the Security Lab (197-204) from 10AM to 2PM. Fatte’s pizza will be available for $1 per slice.

Hey CPLUGers! We have two events coming up this weekend:

Intro to Unix Talk
WHEN: Saturday, November 5th, 5:00 PM
WHERE: Building 14 Room 302

We will be giving our quarterly Intro to Unix talk Saturday, 11/5 at 5PM in 14-302.

Intro to Unix is a quarterly talk aimed at new students and those who are unfamiliar with Linux to gain a foothold on the command line. We will cover basic commands, introduce time saving tricks, and answer
any questions you may have.

The talk will cover what is necessary to succeed in the introductory 100-level courses.
